G4S sponsors prestigious Parliamentary Reception
Held in the Scottish Parliament, the event is an opportunity for the business community and MSPs to raise awareness of the level, impact and cost of business crime in Scotland. In its second year, the event has so far attracted 165 guests who will have the opportunity to share best practice approaches to business related crime prevention.
As the largest security company in Scotland and the UK, and leaders of an industry that contributes 200 million pounds to the Scottish economy, G4S is very aware of the security challenges business and community leaders face. From meeting health and safety obligations, managing and protecting employees, customers and assets, to fulfilling insurance requirements and guaranteeing business continuity, security touches on every area of a business’ and a community’s well being.
Eric Alexander, Director – Scotland for G4S comments: “It is in all of our interests to ensure that the public and private sectors are working closely together to protect Scotland’s legacy as a safe and reliable place to do business. Through information sharing and cooperation we all play a part in ensuring that business leaders and entrepreneurs continue to choose Scotland as a place to develop and grow. Events like this reception are a vital reminder of the role we all play in creating a safer Scotland.”
Alan Dobie, Executive Director, Scottish Business Crime Centre adds: “It is vital that the Police, Scottish Government and the business community work in partnership to help ensure that the economic development of the country is not hindered through criminal activity and that Scotland is seen as a safe place to invest and do business in.
I am delighted that so many of our partners are able to attend this event to network and learn from each other and to understand how the Scottish Business Crime Centre works. By working together, we can make a difference and make Scotland a safe and prosperous place to live, work and locate in.”
